Congratulations to Julie Laib, CAP, outpatient counselor on attaining her Master's Degree!
Two new outpatient program offerings available at CMC:
Genesis -Focuses on identifying and working through underlying issues that drive compulsive addictive behavior. It is an integration of Biblical precepts for personal change, proven relapse prevention techniques, cognitive therapy principles, and the latest neurochemistry research relating to human behavior. The Genesis Process offers each client the tools to heal and grow spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically through: 1) self discovery, 2) understanding addictions, 3) scripture memorization, 4) individually counseling, and 5) key thoughts.
BASE - Stands for Brief Alcohol Screening and Education. It is done in only two individual sessions and we have applied for a grant and may have funding to provide BASE free of charge to some individuals in the initial phase. Unlike traditional programs that focus on helping people who are alcohol dependent, BASE is a short program ideally suited for people who drink in ways that are potentially harmful, but who are not considered dependent. It works by connecting with people where they are in their thinking and moving them toward change using Motivational Interviewing.
